About Us
We are music snobs from way back.
Though we share many similar likes and interests in bands, we all have differing opinions on these bands. What we are trying to achieve with this site is to give unbiased opinions on the music that was, is and will be the best music in the industry. For people that are into great music and don’t have the time or money to waste finding the treasures of our culture in music, there are music snobs like us that can guide you through the audio landscape.

I will always be a child of the 80's at heart.
The decade of the synthesizer and experimentation in music. Ive always loved music that was just outside the norm. The stuff that would make most people think, what the hell I he listening to. I grew up loving many of the new and experimental/challenging music of the 70’s and 80’s. I always felt that there was great power in music that made us think and feel in new ways. The music becomes a part of you in a sense, woven into the fabric of your life, a subconscious thread of ideas, sounds and words tied together with emotions.
Why am I so compelled by music? For one I’m creative and two I was a singer/writer in many bands over the years. Being an artist, I can truely appreciate every artists attempt to put out unique/challenging and or beautiful music. I have a diverse base of likes in music. I like orchestral compositions by all the greats which I spent much of my youth listening to over and over while painting. I even like many folk styles from other countries in many different periods, but I'll spare you the details. I listen to and enjoy many bands and crooners from the 20's - 60’s. I love much of the 70’s rock which I grew up listening to mostly. Then the 80’s came and the discovery of all the new sounds overwhelmed me. I felt priveledged to hear so many obscure and unique things that were developing at the time. The words were even exciting and chewy as well as thought provolking. That's when I truly discovered the secret garden. And from that point on it was like a underground club. A members only club of the alternative music that most people couldnt or didn't want to listen to. I've persuded music ever since then. Trying to discover every new delicious morsel that is released to the world. I remember the first time I heard the Pixies in the late 80’s and said to myself. Wow! This is the start of something big-this new exciting garage band sounding, obnoxious powerhouse of frolic. I consider them the ushers of the new alternative sound. In the early 90's Nirvana exploded on the scene and brought this new alternative sound to the mainstream. Alternative was a true movement by this time and record companies jumped on the "band wagon". Now, Indie is the big buzz and everyone is clammering at this group of artists. There are many new introductions to this category that don't belong because of thier affiliations to big record companies. Once again record companies are trying to capitalize. For shame.
I've discovered much over the last three decades and that's what I bring to the table when I review music. I promise to always give you the real 411 on music without bias.
As you may recognize by the reviews on this site, we are alternative/indie focused but we also look at many other genres that we deem great. For instance, we may also review punk, rap, metal, country, pop, folk, electronica, etc.
Take a look around and discover some new greats. Welcome to the club.
